Stay Boring
A man who is focused on his self-improvement, one who is so engrossed in his own life, will often appear boring to the world. The definition of “interesting” often lies in excesses, as per someone else’s standards. You will notice that the people they call “interesting” know less, say more, do more random things, and are comfortable living their lives in this fashion.
The man who introspects will often find himself at a crossroads. He will be observant of others and, in turn, of his own actions. He will be introspective. He will be focused on where he is and where he wants to go. You will always find him planning for what comes next. He is always playing the long game.
This is important: the one who is playing a long game will always appear boring to you. He isn’t in it for short-term pleasures. All those conversations, all those parties, all that pretentiousness of society will appear uninteresting to him because he is in it for long-term fulfilment. He sees meaning in achieving the big goals.
Such a man has wired himself to recognise the patterns of the world. He has learned the ways of achieving things in this world. He wouldn’t mind playing the game as long as it is aligned with his long-term vision. That man will always appear boring because his ideas are more interesting than short-term pleasures.
It is wise to stay boring if you want to transform your life. Work on your body. Eat right. Stay boring. Focus on your long-term goals. Have a tight schedule and follow it. Stay boring. Build investment strategies. Invest your money. Do the uninteresting part that is required in investing: patience. Stay boring.
Do not let the world fool you into doing things that pull you away from your long-term path. If speaking less, expressing yourself in moderation, or playing the long game is boring, then so be it.
