Good Writing is Passionate Writing
Writing about the topics you feel deeply about is the easiest way to begin. One can borrow the topics from generative AI tools but the passion required to pen down an essay requires emotion. It requires originality. A writer must have to feel the topic through before picking the pen. Writing therefore is not everyone’s cup of tea. Because not everyone is attuned to long streaks of thinking.
To love writing means loving the odd hours you will pick to write. The sudden gush of passion will make you grab your tools and force you to write. The urges are equivalent to addiction. You are drunk on your ideas to the point where you don’t care about making spelling mistakes.
From an outsider’s perspective this is akin to madness. Maybe that’s why they associate pursuing art as love of art. Only in love can you go through such bouts of madness. In love one must trust their own judgment. In writing too, one can never be comfortable with borrowed thinking. A person accustomed to writing with passion will struggle writing the thoughts he never felt in his heart first.
A fiction writer doesn’t pen down the story. He lives through the story along with his characters. He has to go through the pain first before he makes his character feel the pain. Because if he didn’t go through the pain he won’t be able to imbibe in the character which by extension wouldn’t be felt by the reader. This is the prime reason AI will never replace good writers.
Good writing is therefore passionate writing. It is a skill of structured persuasion. By process of writing you remove the wrinkles from your thought process and help the reader embark on a thinking spree of his own. A good writing piece must inspire the reader without leaving too many open ended questions so he can cultivate his own thinking.
