Don’t fear the change; Fear being the same

The fear of tipping your toes in the water often stops you from becoming a great swimmer. But we don’t focus there. We call it some phobia — Thalassophobia to be precise.

You know swimming would have made you healthier and happier overall but you got scared of the first touch with water. We even have a name to defend our delicate personality.

This is not about swimming. It’s about the fear underneath.

The fear of losing your personality, the self that you nurtured throughout the years, and the personality you so defended stops you from achieving greatness. You cannot become great without continuously shedding your own self.

That fear of latching onto the old self stops you from learning and adapting. It soon becomes a hindrance to your progress. You fear the change so you don’t learn because learning requires adapting. Without learning there’s no adapting and without adapting there’s no progress.

Take that first step. Break down the process of learning into smaller and more manageable fragments.

You are destined to be great, act like a great man would.

Don’t fear the change, fear being the same.
